Back To The Beginning
There is a certain way of things happen around here you that cannot change. But sometimes changes happen like possible impossibilities. You never know what your life might be or what your destiny might bring to you in order to make you happy or sad. Mine was such a dramatic one that I never thought I would actually write about it someday. Yet everything is possible if you just believe and though you don’t like, you have to.
My granddaughter Saarya and I share this special friendship that she makes me want to go back to my school years so much. She is still young and fresh but she loves me who am old like I’m her partner in crime. She came to me one day holding a scrap what looked like to me a part of an old note book.
“Grandma, what’s E Tree?” she asked me with so much curiosity that I couldn’t help but smile. “E Tree is where true smile begins dear” I said realizing that even after 60 years, it was true. “Please Gran, tell will you? And there’s some addresses too. I want to know!”
“It’s a list of addresses of my old friends Saarya. Why are you so interested in an address book child?” I wondered.
“I’m not keen about it because of these addresses Grandma but there are some interesting bits too. You’ve nick named them all your friends and some stuff that look like battle plans for me” Horror struck and startled at the same time she said. “You weren’t in a battle were you?”
“Of course not my child! They are not at all battle plans. And mind you if you have enough brains you will see that they are mind maps.”
“Mind maps? You mean real mind maps? Like the kind of maps that you can use to compete in Mind Wars? Are you serious Grandma??? You were a mind’s eye??? I thought they were just stories I mean of course Mom is so full of them but I always thought it was you who told about them to her but you are actually a one....”
“Take a breath Saarya, how can you jabber so much! And don’t spill a word about these things to your friends or anyone else because they might think you are a nut case who I’m afraid you are”
She smiled but with lots of questions to attack me. “Oh common Gran, you’ve got to tell me! What’s your mind power? Can you still do it? I’ve heard that they fade away with time”
“Oh, you won’t give up until get the whole story, won’t you? I don’t know how you found that book and you are certainly not going to keep it with you Saarya. No! Don’t give me that puppy face child, it’s too dangerous. I will tell you the story only if you promise that you will not tell about any of this to anyone. And that includes your bestie Samee and your mom. She won’t leave me in peace if she knows.”
“I solemnly swear….” Started Saarya, “that you are up to no good???” I asked with a raised eyebrow.
“Nope Grandma!!! I solemnly swear that I will not tell any of this to anyone and if I do accidentally or something I hereby give you permission to mind orb me or mind flabbergast me or something” A confused Saarya jabbered.
“It’ called flash wipe. Only a flash can do that dear. I’m afraid I’m not a one. My power was something beyond that. It was rare and we all had different powers. Any the stories you know about Mind’s Eyes are not entirely true. They are just modified versions to avoid people getting to know about us. And other thing you have to bear in mind honey is that Mind’ Eyes are not new to our world. Even you can become one with right amount of concentration and will power because everything is possible if you just believe.”
