Names & Aims

“Welcome back girls. It’s a fine day to continue your training, now that you know what your powers are.” Ms Cleanor began our second lesson in training. She was wearing the same attire as she did on the other day. We sat scattered around the Camp aka Assembly Arena and while walking among us, Ms. Cleanor continued to preside.

“History is a divine source which carries most lessons one could learn. History itself is a lesson for those of us who discipline our minds. Your training will be incomplete without your knowledge about your ancestors and their stories. And I’m well aware that all of you know about those little stories by heart as they were told to you by your elders as children’s stories, so I’m not going to retell them and bore you. But we will consider the gist of those.” And then she began.

“You are familiar with the legend of Maya. She is believed to be our core element; the root to our generations. She was compassionate, loving, kind and generous and above all just and wise. She was gifted the powers of Mind’s Eye to make sure the continuity of goodness and humanity in the world. She disciplined her mind as she was told and she gained those powers. Because she was the first and the only one with all the powers, she was named Prior Demnar meaning the Prime invincible Mind’s Eye.

However the legend says that the ability to become a Mind’s Eye comes within the genes. So that would mean each and every one of you should have the same gene as Maya. But in a practical world, this cannot happen as you know genes divide and obviously they can mutate. So, with the advancement of technology and philosophy, we believe, the Prior Demnar gene was split and mutated. And according to science, we are a constantly evolving gene pool so random selection occurs. That’s why most of the time you don’t see Mind’s Eyes in every generation of your family.”

Okay, now that’s more like a science lesson which none of us understood. Excuse me, I thought this was about history. It was apparent by the looks on my fellow classmates that they were thinking the same. Ms. Cleanor noticed that too.

“I know this is too much for you but you need to know.” Ms. Cleanor continued.

“If we simplify this, that means the reason you are a Mind’s Eye is because you are randomly selected by nature. You have a gene similar to the first Prior Demnar Maya but not the very same. You have something more of a daughter gene of it. That’s why you don’t have all the powers like her. But on rare occasions it is possible for one to have the gene that gives the ability to have all the powers like Prior Demnar. For years we thought it was a chance once in a trillion and even may be impossible but today we have the living proof of it.” And she stopped right next to me.

A minute or two passed with all the eyes in the room directed at me. I suddenly felt my face so hot like standing directly under the scorching sun. Once Ms. Cleanor began to pace, others started to follow her footsteps.

“Mutation of the first gene had lead to the discovery of many powers that are clearly unique and new. Basically the inner qualities of the person who has the gene also influence the type of the power they possess. The story of Alicia the young widow is an example for the mind reading ability of Mind’s Eyes. Story of Mary and the lamb shows Mind’s Eye ability to bond with animals. Many Mind’s Eye scholars have studied these stories and found out that there are 21 basic Mind’s Eye powers. Depending on the person and inner qualities these basic powers may modify. Now we will see what these 21 powers are.”

She walked towards the stage which has turned itself to a normal class room front with a massive blackboard. Once she reached the blackboard she nodded to the short girl Neena sitting next to it and white chalked letters began to appear. Clearly Neena is able to move objects by her mind. The curvy letters that appeared on the blackboard was a list.

“Basic Mind’s Eye Powers

Mind reading
Memory adjusting
Creating physical optical illusions
Creating mental optical illusions
Vanishing objects from one place to another
Ability to send blue fire
Ability to send nerve pulses to cut off all senses…….”

The list was a long one. Just after it was done appearing itself on the board Ms. Cleanor started to talk again.

“Mind reading is a valuable ability. The Mind’s Eye with this ability is known as a Reader. Memory adjusting is the power of Mind’s Eyes known as Flash. They can wipe a memory forever which is called flash wiping or modify memories. Pillusionist carry the ability to create physical optical illusions. This Camp is a creation by a Pillusionist. Though it’s an illusion you can touch it. Vice versa Millusionists can create mental optical illusions. They can make you see whatever they want you to see within your mind.

Orbs are the ones that have the ability to vanish themselves and objects from one place to another. More like transporting. Next power is the ability to send blue fire. Blue fire is something like a spell. When you want a person to stop whatever he is doing in offending you, you can send a blue fire and the person will temporarily stop doing it. It’s very effective in many ways. The person who can send a blue fire is called a firefly. The seventh one is sending nerve impulses. These impulses cut off your ability to sense anything in any way. They Mind’s Eyes who have this ability are called Nerveblasts. They are trained under special trainers because uncontrolled, this power can harm the carrier.

Next power is channeling your anger through objects. The Mind’s Eyes who have this power are called Rage. They learn to control their anger and project them on objects and if powerful enough on people. You will see demonstrations of each basic power in coming lessons so don’t worry. Third Eyes are the Mind’s Eyes with the ability to see future. Next is the ability to fight untiringly for a cause. Those Mind’s Eyes are fearless in battles and wars. They are called Paladin.

The power to control and give happiness to other people belongs to Mind’s Eyes called Bliss. The opposites are called Sorrowers. They can control and take sad out of people. Healers are like doctors. They can cure any injury. Mind’s Eyes with the ability to invent new things are called Dars. Aqua is the name given to a Mind’s Eye with the ability to bend the will of the water. It’s a rare one girls. We have seen only one within our school for fifty years. Mind’s Eyes that can channel sound waves and project them are called Sonar.

Another rare ability is the power to read stars. Mind’s Eyes who can read stars are called Starok. Next power is the ability to track something or someone. Mind’s Eye name given is Trek. Arrow is the name given to Mind’s Eyed who are good shooters and with good aiming ability. Last but not least is the ability to mend messages from mind to mind. It’s a common one and they are called Messengers.”
