Ola people!!!!!!!! When it comes to food there is no end to it. We always focus on food which are healthy and full of nutrients etc. etc. etc. But once in a while it's not bad to try something out of concern. Otherwise life would be boring so would be your dinner plate. (lol) Anyways today, I thought of presenting some recipes that we all love and we all have tried. They are junk food aka take aways. Try them in your style by changing the menu, it doesn't have to be the same.
Submarine, Burger, hot dog dough
Ingredients
1 egg
1 cup milk
1/2 cup water
1/4 cup butter
4 1/2 cups flour
0.25 oz package instant yeast
2 tbsp sugar
1 1/2 teaspoons salt
makes 12 burger buns, 12-16 hot dogs and 8-10 submarines
Method
- First heat milk, water and butter. Then in a large bowl, mix 1 3/4 cup flour, yeast, sugar and salt. Then add the milk mixture to the flour mixture and then add the egg. While continuously mixing, add the rest of the flour.
- When the dough is well mixed, knead on a floured surface for at least 10 minutes.
- Divide the dough into smooth balls of your desired size (do not make them too small or too big) and cover it and keep aside for half an hour. For baking, place them spaciously on a buttered baking tray.
- For Burgers- Bake at 400 degrees F for 10 to 12 minutes until golden brown.
- For Hot Dogs- Shape each ball into rectangle. Starting with the longer side, roll up tightly, and pinch edges and ends to seal. Let rise about 20 to 25 minutes. Bake as above.
- For submarines- Make the balls into rectangle bigger than hot dogs and bake as above.
- If you prefer, you may sprinkle sesame seeds on top before bake for burgers and submarines.
