Among many things that add up life to your living space, a simple thing like curtains hold a major role. Curtains can nullify the total effect of a mystified room or just add a bit dramatic effect to a colourful room. And also apart from the colours you intend to use on them, their patterns and prints also matter.
Firstly in choosing a curtain design, consider the place of the house such as whether it is living room, tv room or bedroom etc. If we think of bed room, go for a colour matching with the wall paint and as well as the bed sheet colour. If it is a room fully painted in white, you can always select the option for more brighter coloured curtains which will add up a ripple of colours to your bed room. A living room is the place we get to spend time, meet outsiders so it's nothing wrong with a bit of show off in there. You can always choose something simple but attractive. What is the point of a curtain if it not eye catching???? For bathrooms and kitchens, go for lighter shades to blend in with the walls so that there is not much of a difference.
Basically there are two kinds of design patterns of curtains as poles and boxes. Boxes are a bit out of fashion but nevertheless, there are some glamour looking ones in the market. the most used one is the poles. There are different patterns and sizes of poles as well as they can be of wood or steel. Wooden poles is just gorgeous in my idea. And the best part is they are easy to handle too. In the other case if you are using the box, be aware of squirrels because they just love building nests inside curtain boxes.
Most of the people today use two layers of curtains as the normal inner satin one and outer hard material. That just gives a fascination to the area. Or else using just the satin or lace is also good because it is easy for light to penetrate.
There are different kinds of materials used for curtains. Among them are, Satin, Silk, Sheer silk, Oganza, Linen and etc. Whatever material you choose make sure you choose them considering the climate of your living area. And most importantly curtains should always be able to penetrate light into house rather than blocking sunlight.
