COFFEE!!! How amazing it is to know that many depend on a mug of this caffeinated drink to survive a day. Even among my friends, half to half are coffee addicted coffee lovers. I myself consider the tea person but even I do have a certain likeliness to iced Coffee. The origin of Coffee plant is from Ethiopia and today many countries in Asia including Sri Lanka and Latin America grows Coffee and export. Coffee has caffeine which has a stimulating effect on humans. That's why we usually drink Coffee to stay awake and it is a great power booster too.
Production of Coffee involves several processes and mind you it is not easy to produce good quality Coffee without effort. Coffee berries have to be selectively plucked by hand and then sorted out according to different levels of ripeness. Then they are fermented and the flesh is removed. Then comes the washing part where the coffee beans are washed with large amounts of fresh water. Then these beans are dried and again sorted out. Then comes the roasting part (My favourite) which is the main factor that influence on the taste of the coffee. Roasted Coffee is then graded and stored in a way to protect the freshness of the roasted beans.
Enough about the production now. Coffee can be brewed into different tastes.According to taste and the ingredients you add to make, you can name the drink for eg; iced coffee, Espresso, Caffe latte, Cappuccino, caffè macchiato etc. Most of all the most famous must be the Nescafe.
There are many misleading concepts about Coffee and health. However, what one must understand is that too much is not good at all and it stands true for Coffee too. I know some can't resist 9 or 10 mugs of Coffee a day but if you check through you will get to know the amount of damage it can cause to your brain and sleeping pattern. However there is zero risk of cancer for coffee addicts and there is reduced risks of Alzheimer's, Parkinson's and heart disease. Most of the time doctors advice not to drink Coffee to migraine patients which is actually true because experiments have proof for this.
Many restaurants and Hotels have different kinds of Coffee served and I can guarantee they are worth trying. One you should not miss is the Coffee Bean and Tea Leaf restaurants for an exceptional pleasure in coffee tasting.
