Rare & Precious.........

Can you list the things in your home you think rare and precious????? Well obviously my bed is precious for me because that's where I relax but hmmm.... It's not rare though. What else..... Oh... what about jewelry??? You are getting close. I'm talking about gemstones. Gems are rare because not every country in the world has them and precious because they are unique and beautiful. What are gems? Gems are minerals that have underwent several natural process for a long time finally resulting in a hard or a soft rock formation. These rocks are polished and shaped by cutting in a way that their beauty is well exposed. Here comes the best part. Usually when we get a gemstone we let sunlight or a source of light pass through the stone so that the gemstone will refract the light beam. That's where gemstones become different from other stones. This quality is known as refraction and the ability for refraction is the refractive index. This refractive index varies from gem to gem. Diamonds has the highest of all.

Hot & Spicy Noodle Omelet....

Breakfast is the most important meal of the day. It gives you the energy to carry out your work and refill the nutrient content in your body which was used up while you were asleep. Breakfast should always be a healthy, wholesome and a very inviting one. I like my meals to be hot. And a  good hot meal with spices and right amount of ingredients is always inviting and mouth watering to me. Today I tried this recipe which is a creation of mine and it was actually very delicious. I wanted to have eggs but there were no bread in the house so I tried it with some noodles. You can adjust the amounts given down here according to your choice. Here goes the recipe.

COFFEE!!! How amazing it is to know that many depend on a mug of this caffeinated drink to survive a day. Even among my friends, half to half are coffee addicted coffee lovers. I myself consider the tea person but even I do have a certain likeliness to iced Coffee.  The origin of Coffee plant is from Ethiopia and today many countries in Asia including Sri Lanka and Latin America grows Coffee and export. Coffee has caffeine which has a stimulating effect on humans. That's why we usually drink Coffee to stay awake and it is a great power booster too.

Reading is such a big habit of mine that cannot even see a simple scrap of paper go in waste without me reading it. As usually I was getting along with the cleaning chores at home, I went through some old books of my grandfather. Among them, I found a tabloid from 1987 which ha many interesting articles with from many other internationally recognized tabloid magazines like reader’s digest. Though it has been 24 years since the publication of these articles, some of their facts still hold true to the present day society. I chose this article on trust and I’m presenting it to you fellas with some editing and my own opinions. As I say, you are warmly invited to comment on.

Legendary Cooking Recipes In SL style.....

Howdy all the food friends!!!! Already into the weekend and any food plans??? I bet you'd love to try some old fashionable dishes with a country style from our very own Sri Lanka. While looking for some interesting recipes I happened to cross a book written on true life experiences of the most famous chef of Sri Lanka; Pabilis Silva from Mt. Lavinia Hotel. For those of us who live in SL, this name is not at all unfamiliar. Chef Pabilis is actually can be called as the path finder of a long lost secrets of cookery in our country. With the rapid modernizing world which is  basically fueled by burgers and chips, the classic dishes of this Maestro in the art of culinary are truly revolutionizing. For his work, service and artistic touch in his field, he was awarded and well recognized nationally and internationally. 

Running my fingers and thoughts trough the pages of his book, I found many unheard and unfamiliar recipes which I'm dying to try myself. It was even very hard to find pics of them. Here are some of the recipes I think you may find interesting.

Hey pals!!!!! It's 15th January already and what are your plans ahead????? Hoping for the week ahead's work to be easy and cool???? Or need some time alone with the long lost habits you used to have??? Well, I guess my topic for today is based on some facts about my friends and about me of course. It's the reading habit. If I raise the question, how many of you like to read books, I would probably get the answer "I used to be a bookworm, according to my mom but I don't have time now." Once I heard one of my friends say, she doesn't have time to read although she would literary do anything to get soaked in a book. This is the situation for most of us.

The True Meaning Of A New Year......

It's been 10 days since the most awaited dawn of 2012 and what have we seen as a change in this year???? Some may define that this new year is a big happening in their lives as they are going to get married or expecting their first child or even a big success in their business. Well they are physical factors. What about mental??? Many of us will be changing the attitude, the way we see the world or even over come the pains and sorrows we have faced in last year. Whatever it is, everybody is expecting a change in their lives with the change of years. I'm not saying that it's bad but if you look back these 10 days, what have changed????

A Visit To Kanneliya........

You might wonder what Kanneliya is.... Well for those who don't know, Kanneliya is a forest reserve in Galle District, Sri Lanka. And for those who know about Kanneliya I would be glad to add the part that it is the only forest in South Asia with the maximum bio diversity in a unit area. Pretty cool. ah??? Well actually, Kanneliya is cool and trust me even if it is in dry zone and only several miles away from beach, this forest has a very cool temperature at around 21C. I thought of presenting some stuff I found out about Kanneliya to you today as a prior notification to all the tourists, biologists and travellers who are interested in visiting such miracles of nature to protect the remains of this beautiful place. I visited there and did my best by leaving only my foot steps there and I sincerely hope you do that too.

Suffer Reversing Suppers...

Hey folks, it's been a while since my last update due to unavoidable circumstances anyways, first and foremost I wish you a very happy new year!!!!! So it's 2012 and what can we ask more??? Let's say this year, we are trying to make ourselves available for more and more joyous activities. Therefore, one should be able to get over all the sufferings and pains. I know for some, this could be a new beginning after a long period of suffering so, in my opinion, food is the best remedy for it. Mainly it would be chocolate based recipes. They are simple and quick and they are the quickest to get into our mind. And it's just not only food but Suffer Reversing Suppers!!!! Let's see what we have got on our menu today!!!!!!
